Chivaughn “Mrs. Ausome” Clarke

   Chivaughn Clarke’s commitment to autism awareness and autism advocacy encompassesover thirty years of personal experience. Affectionately known as Mrs. Ausome, this native New Yorker is the real-life mom of her awesome son Kenneth Jr., who is the inspiration for her children’s book series, A Day in the Life of Kenny Ausome. Each volume will address everyday life challenges and experiences families face while caring for children with autism.Chivaughn is a retired Sergeant from the New York City Police Department in the rank of Sergeant. During her tenure, she was a member of the sergeant trio that founded L.E.A.F. (Law Enforcement Autism Families). The award-winning team members were the pioneers that formed the support group for all ranks, both uniform, and civilian of the New York City Police Department, that had family members on the autism spectrum. She also serves her community, as a licensed chaplain. Chivaughn welcomes life's challenges with confidence standing on her favorite scripture, " I can do all things through Christ that strengtheneth me".
